Space Coast Chapter Notes
Notes & Reflections From Our Space Coast Chapter Leader
Other’s Grief
We were in Georgia ” babysitting” for our daughter and son-in-law’s three beautiful children, 14, 13, and 11. Please don’t tell Sam (14 year old) that I said he was beautiful! They are amazing young people who are bright, kind, active, and helpful. Homeschooling is a real plus! The youngest is severely autistic. When I watched all Sam and Abby did with and for him, I realized what a great relationship siblings have.
TCF Saved my Life
When our daughter, Mandy, died in 2009 I just didn’t know how I was going to survive. I had trouble breathing. I could not sleep. I couldn’t cry. My husband, on the other hand, could sleep, and cried all of the time. Thankfully we found TCF. We attended two meetings each month. That was the only way we made it through the days, weeks, months, and years. TCF and the caring people who attended saved my life.
More Than a Memory
I woke up today, seven years after Mandy died, and asked myself if all of this had been a bad dream. It didn’t take long before I answered myself….no, it was not a dream. Why after so many years is her death so difficult for me to grasp? I keep asking myself that question over and over. I’m not really sure there are any answers, but here are my thoughts.
Remembering Where we Succeeded
Here we are, believe it or not, in 2016! The years just seem to whiz by faster and faster, don’t they? Maybe my age is showing. It’s exciting to face a new year in so many ways. Everything is new. A fresh start is always refreshing.
